Grandpa and Grandma Heiner

I love my Grandparents! When I was growing up I was blessed to live in the same town as my grandparents. Some of my fondest memories involve my grandma and grandpa Heiner's house. My grandpa is a garden master and always had good things to pick and eat. We would go there every summer and pick raspberries for jam and such, it was so hard not to eat all of them as I picked them and I admit that I usually ate more than I put in the bucket. I remember being at their house and playing outside and walking through the garden picking peas and green beans. The best was when we would get brave enough to eat the rhubarb...we coated it in sugar after the first bite. Not only was the garden amazing, but so was the yard. (It is so beautiful that I had my reception in their back yard when I got married.)
My Grandma is a master cooker of everything good. Her bread is to die for!! When ever I go home to visit I eat like half a loaf in 5 minutes. So good!! She is also an amazing seamstress. Before her eyes started to go bad she used to make wedding dresses. She made most of her daughters dresses and some of my cousins. And you can't even tell that they are homemade! She is am amazing decorator/designer and my grandpa is her carpenter. They make rocking chairs, tricycles, tables, all kinds of toys. My favorite as a child was when he would make us all swards from wood and we would have wars. My favorite now is a beautiful cherry would jewelry box with a velvet inside that my grandpa made me for a wedding gift.
Of all of these things the thing that I will remember the most (besides the bread) grandpa staying up until all hours with us playing all kinds of card and board games. My grandpa is a sucker for games. These two people are such an inspiration for me. They are such good people and I love them very dearly.
