livia marin

Livia Marin is another one of those artist who takes objects from our everyday lives and re-appropriates them for her art. It is interesting how each person is so unique and their creativity is also so unique. I would have never thought to carve tubes of lipstick. The top image is of contorted aluminum. They look like slugs to me (from a gun, not the animal). The second photo is of broken and melting bowl. I can't quit figure this one out. It looks really cool, but I don't get what she was going for. The carved lipstick is my favorite. The fact that she carved so many is really what makes this work so well.
